Chalet Hugo sits right in the middle of the most exciting terrain for activities and spectactor sports. The Mont Blanc Classic Car Rally almost passes our door, with the Tour de France 2022 stopping for a rest stop in Morzine! Situated right on the edge of the mountain forest, there are many hiking and biking trails from Chalet Hugo's front door offers the perfect accommodation for activity based holidays in the French Alps, at a great price.


Morzine offers a breathtaking array of sports and activities from hiking, climbing and mountain biking to mountain top zip wire and paragliding to name just a few. And, of course, a ski experience that's difficult to beat.


Morzine is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, which ranks as one of the two largest ski areas in the world, with approx. 200 ski lifts, comprising 12 linked resorts spanning France and Switzerland. With 32 black, 101 red, 119 blue and 34 green pisted runs, Portes du Soleil you'll find skiing for all levels, with modern ski facilities along with a vast array of après ski restaurants and bars. We'll take you right to your chosen ski lift with our 8 seater mini-bus and pick you up after your ski or après ski.

1934, the Pléney cable car

Nearly 90 years ago in 1934, the Heckel company from Saarbrücken built the Pléney cable car in Morzine. At the time of construction, it was only the 3rd device of this type built in France. It was the first big step by individuals wishing to develop the winter tourist activities.
